The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overall primer for participants interested in creating or advancing their vein practice. It essentially answers all the questions during the journey on building a successful outpatient vein practice, from learning the science and art of treating patients with chronic superficial venous reflux, to the ups and downs of building your own specialty practice. Participants interested in dedicated vein care will learn background anatomy and physiology, along with the requisite workup for history and physical for chronic venous insufficiency, including why the workup must include a hands-on ultrasound. Lots of practical photographs, videos, and animations will be included to explain complex concepts. Popular treatment options including ablation and newer treatments will be discussed, including common complications and follow-up. Finally, this webinar will highlight necessary information regarding insurance approval and how and when to build a stand-alone vein clinic, including the economic considerations, marketing aspects, and recent debates regarding accreditation, all from personal trials and tribulations.

 Objectives

1. Discuss the basic clinical workup for varicose veins and chronic superficial venous insufficiency, including recognizing signs and symptoms.
