Tuesday Film Panel Plenary Session with JVIR awards recognition
Tuesday, June 14, 10:30 a.m. – noon
Location: Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, room Ballroom
Come celebrate the accomplishments and culture of IR in today’s plenary, held at 10:30 a.m. in the Ballroom.
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR) Editor-in-chief Daniel Y. Sze, MD, PhD, FSIR, will begin the session by presenting awards to authors and reviewers who made the most indelible impact on the journal’s content and, hence, on the IR literature base in 2021. In addition to the JVIR Editor’s Awards for Outstanding Clinical Study and Outstanding Laboratory Investigation (a total of 13 awards, an increase of two total in prior years), Dr. Sze is introducing new award categories this year: Peers’ Choice (awarding highly cited papers) and People’s Choice (awarding papers with the highest number of downloads). During the session, he will also recognize the Top Reviewers of 2021 and describe the new 13-SA-CME-credit opportunity based on the 2021 Top Paper Award winners (free for SIR members to purchase during the week of SIR 2022, with 3 years in which the activity must be completed for credit). Read more about SIR 2022 JVIR events.
After the award presentations, stay tuned for the always-popular Film Panel presentation, which will make its grand return this year. Moderated by Minhaj S. Khaja, MD, MBA, FSIR, and Charles A. Gilliland, MD, this exciting and creative session is an IR game show like no other. From quizzes to skits to original films in past years, the Film Panel session never fails to excite and to leave a lasting impression.
Today’s theme may be a closely guarded secret, but moderators are certain that the costumes and acting will leave members hungry for more.
