APDIR Education Courses Subcommittee Volunteer Opportunity

The APDIR Education Courses Subcommittee is seeking interested program directors, associate program directors or physician educators to join the committee for the standard 3-year term that can be renewed for an additional three (3) years. Committee members will be active participants in the development of SIR Graduate Medical Education Stand-alone Meetings such as the IR Residency Spring Practicum, and the development, implementation and, oversight of potential additional learning events that complement the IR Residency Spring Practicum. The committee will also review any partnership opportunities with industry or other societies or conferences to complement the stand-alone meetings.

The committee will:

• Work with the IR Residency Spring Practicum co-directors to
• Identifying topic speakers
• Potential participation as a topic speaker
• Work with SIR’s Corporate Relations department
• Contribute to the development and oversight of potential new SIR educational events for residents
• Curriculum and program development
• Identifying specific, focused topic(s)
• Identifying optimal times of the year
• Optimal number of attendees

• Active participation in scheduled meetings
• As needed, create surveys or evaluations for dissemination to meeting attendees to gauge meeting outcomes
• As needed, present project updates to APDIR Officers and SIR, Graduate Medical Education division leadership
• Present at the APDIR Education Meeting, and SIR APDIR Business Meeting
• Work on projects, initiatives as identified/requested by the APDIR Officers, Graduate Medical Education division leadership or in collaboration with Clinical Service Committees (CSCs)
• Identify projects/initiatives appropriate for the committee
