Committee Charge, Expectations & Term

Committee Charge:
The Practice Development Committee (PDC) comprises of physician volunteers from all practice models (private, academic, etc.,). The committee’s charge is to plan and develop practice building resources that align with the SIR’s goals, mission, and vision. The goal of this committee is to address present IR needs and to enhance clinical excellence focusing on the growth of interventional radiologist in their chosen practice models. Under the Practice Management Councilor's leadership, the Practice Development Committee will work closely with the Small & Rural Practice Committee, Private Practice Advisory Committee, and Workforce Initiatives Committee to promote synergies between the groups.

The PDC reports to the Practice Management Division which has synergies with the Clinical and Practice Affairs Division.

Expectations:
As a vice chair of the Practice Development Committee, you will oversee committee activities such as developing enduring materials to help SIR members succeed in different practice settings. You will also be responsible for approving committee topics/agendas, managing reoccurring meetings, distributing assigned projects, and performing any other duties associated with your role. In addition, you will be expected to collaborate with other chairs within, but not limited to, Practice Management. The term for this position is three years.

Term & time commitment:
This is a three year role. The Practice Development Committee will meet in person at the Annual Meeting once a year. The remainder of the meetings will be Zoom calls occurring once every other month.

Qualifications
• Shall have been an active member.
• Shall be actively practicing interventional radiology or have practiced at least 10 years.
• Shall have experience and/or interest in practice development.

Specific Duties of the Position

Specific responsibilities:
• Serve as a strategic leader who understands the SIR mission and vision. Should be able to link the group’s activities with strategic goals.
• Provide feedback to CTA’s inquiries relating to the practice development as and when needed.
• Prepare a work plan for the committee to guide the volunteer group's actions and inform leadership of group activities.
• Facilitate all meetings and conference calls to address all agenda items.
• Structure the meeting agenda to ensure that relevant and timely topics of interest are addressed.

• Champion accountability and performance evaluation for the volunteer group.

• Delegate assignments to involve all volunteers.

• Attending regular check-ins with the allocated staff liaison to summarize the tasks completed and discuss any actions requiring executive council approval or awareness outlined by the strategic plan and group charge.
• Attend quarterly check-ins with the Practice Management division councilor.
