Clinical Specialty Councils (CSCs) are charged with advising and developing programs and services for SIR members on both image-guided procedures and non-procedural patient care. Each CSC shall provide critical assessment and oversight of the overall status of IR and of existing SIR activities within that clinical domain. Additionally, the CSCs are responsible for integrating with SIR and SIR Foundation efforts in clinical practice development, economics and health policy, research, quality, education/training, and communications into an overall development strategy for that clinical domain.
Clinical Specialty Council vice chairs are expected to serve a term of two years before ascending to the role of Clinical Specialty Councilor. Terms begin and end at the adjournment of the Annual Members Business’ Meeting. Vice chairs are nominated by the SIR Nominating Committee and elected by SIR membership.

All nominees must be active members in good standing. Members of the SIR and SIR Foundation Nominating Committees are not eligible to be nominated for any position. Nominations are considered confidential.
