The Resident Governing Council of the Resident, Fellow, and Medical Student Section (RFS) is the voice for trainees interested in Interventional Radiology (IR) and will advocate for them at the national and international level. The group will promote a clinical model of IR practice at the medical student, resident, and fellow level by emphasizing the importance and necessity of becoming disease experts, and above all else, by focusing on patient-centered care. The group will work to influence the training model to reflect these goals, at least in part by advocating for the development of resident and fellow-driven clinics and supporting the development of IR residency programs. This group oversees the RFS Section and exists within SIR's Member Services Division.
