SIR is a member organization of the American Medical Association (AMA). As such, SIR has an AMA delegation consisting of two delegates, one alternate delegate, two YPS delegates, one early career delegate and one RFS delegate.
Responsibilities of the SIR AMA delegation members are to attend the annual AMA House of Delegates (HOD) meeting held annually in Chicago in June and the Interim HOD meeting held annually in November (location TBD). These are in-person meetings lasting for several days. In addition, the delegates attend several virtual meetings of the AMA Radiology Section prior to the HOD and interim meetings.
The SIR RFS AMA delegate position is open now because the physician holding that position is no longer a resident. The RFS delegate is responsible for attending the RFS section meeting held during the HOD and interim meeting, and to represent IR resident issues during those meetings. To prepare for the AMA meetings, the SIR RFS delegate is to be in communication with SIR RFS activities and policy issues.
