We are seeking applicants for the Residents and Fellows Section (RFS) position in the SIR delegation to the AMA. The RFS is a special section for resident and fellow physician members of the AMA, whose purpose is to provide a direct relationship between the AMA and residents and fellows. The RFS Mission includes promotion of the AMA Code of Medical Ethics among residents, fellows and the graduate medical community and to ensure that residents and fellows are treated fairly and given full opportunity to debate issues and develop policies that influence the changing medical education environment. As part of the SIR AMA delegation, the RFS delegate will attend AMA House of Delegates meetings and will hear from nationally recognized leaders and attend educational sessions, while crafting national policies impacting residents and fellows.
RFS delegates should be prepared to commit to at least two days to attend each of the two AMA meetings; the Annual meeting is in June and the Interim meeting is in November. RFS delegates will be expected to participate in conference calls/meetings to prepare for these semi-annual AMA meetings. At this time, the AMA meetings are being held virtually, but at some point, the meetings will be held in person. SIR provides reimbursement for travel and lodging for the in-person meetings.
Eligibility: Interventional Radiology Residents and Fellows holding current AMA and SIR memberships in good standing are invited to apply.
