Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of our society and help to power the initiatives of SIR and SIR Foundation. On this page SIR members can find a variety of open opportunities ranging from ad-hoc volunteer opportunities to three-year committee appointments. You must log into SIR Connect to apply to opportunities.

Utilize these steps to begin volunteering:

Opt in to the volunteer pool with the subscription feature located above to receive email invitations to apply for new opportunities that match the content of your volunteer profile. (Optional)

Complete your volunteer profile and select options that align with your interests and qualifications. (Optional)

Apply to open opportunities on this page that fit your schedule, interests and qualifications. Click here to find more information about specific committees prior to applying.

Please note that the time of year determines which type of volunteer opportunities are available. The graphic below references the cycle for most three-year committees and ad-hoc opportunities.

Other important timelines to keep in mind:

Three-year SIR and SIR Foundation leadership opportunities open and close in the fall.
The Resident, Fellows and Students Section (RFS)'s one-year committee general committee opportunities open in the fall and close early January.
